Sonja Andrew

Sonja Andrew is a part-time lecturer and researcher in textiles at the University of Manchester and a freelance printed textile designer. In her previous post she was senior lecturer and course leader for textiles at the University of the West of England, Bristol. Sonja trained in multi-disciplinary design and worked in industry at Skopos Design before completing her MA in textile design (theory and practice) at Central St. Martins, London. She is the coordinator for Textile Forum South West, a regional textile networking organisation, and is also undertaking a practice-based research degree at Central St.Martins which investigates ‘textile semantics’ and issues surrounding textiles as communication.
