Culture is a quite important concept in the art education. Art education is a process in which students can find the ways of expressing their perception of culture through artistic representation. For this reason, it is possible to mention the art education as a rich resource which is used effectively in order to enable students to explain their cultures and to gain cultural awareness in terms of cultural values and cultural identity. The main aim of this study is to reveal art education students’ interpret and define their own artistic representation through own cultures. The research was carried on the basis of art-based inquiry pattern which is one of the qualitative research methods. The data of the study were gathered from 8 students from Anadolu University Fine Art Education Department in Eskisehir, Turkey in the form of artistic design process, artistic products and the interviews through artistic design process. The findings obtained were analysed and interpreted in terms of content analysis.
